Mighty Grocery Shopping List: Favorites

Favorites tab gives a quick access to items you buy most often. Just tap an item and it gets instantly added to the current shopping list. A yellow star indicates that item is added to the current shopping list.

You can add items to Favorites as you would for any shopping list: Add button (plus), Voice input, Barcode scan. To populate Favorites from Pick list or History just select Favorites as destination list on top of Pick list or History and tap items you would like to get added.

List-specific favorites feature allows you to associate a list of products with a certain store. For instance, if you buy fruits from Whole Foods and milk from your local grocery store, with list-specific favorites it is possible to list fruits under Whole Foods’ favorites, and milk as favorite for your local grocery store. Please see Manage shopping lists User’s Guide for more details on how to configure list-specific favorites.

I think I just answered my own question. I pushed the favorites list for store number 1 to the cloud, then pulled it into the favorites list for store number two, where I can adjust the isles accordingly. This worked and will get me what I was looking for, but I suspect I am mixing up the functions of the favorites list, the pick list and the master list by doing it this way. I can’t seem to wrap my thick head around the proper applications of these various types of lists. Any suggestions to make this work better for my intended use is most welcome.

I maintain my favorites list as the end-all be-all master list of my shopping list for groceries. I do the vast majority of my grocery shopping at a single store, and set up custom isles to reflect that shopping experience. I’d say this app cuts shopping time in half and helps me remember things I would have forgotten, plus it’s fun to use. I would like to now add a second store – the one I occasionally use for quick runs. Is there any way to use my existing favorites list, but reconfigure the isles to reflect the new store? The ideal situation is to start with favorites, say which store I am going to, and select the items. I’m not sure if that is possible.

I use mg as a shopping list and also as a chores list for two of my kids. I make a list for each of them and a favorites list of chores. The chores are the same for them both. I pick the one I want and assign it to either one depending on who is home.

My question is how can I make a favorites list and use it for both kids so I won’t have to duplicate each item in both lists? Or is there another better way to share items from the same area?

Thanks man, this a wonderful app

Hi John, thank you for your question and your feedback!

Unfortunately, list-specific favorites are bound to distinct lists, so you’ll need to duplicate items in Favorites list.

There is another way around through Pick list, but configuration isn’t easy. Please use the following recommendations at your own discretion. First, you will need to customize aisles for both of your chores lists. To do so, create “Chores” aisle in “Any list” aisle configuration, then customize aisles for both chores lists, hide or delete all existing aisles except for “Chores” aisle. Second, go to Menu –> Settings –> Pick list –> My picks –> Add items into chores list and make sure items are assigned aisle “Chores”. Now you can pick up items into your chores lists from Pick list.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or comments.
